Manual Machines-Operates and maintains manual lathe, radial arm drill, Bridgeport type milling machines, metal cutting band saw. Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, to ensure accurate production. Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping. Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task. Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects. Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs. Experience working in a metal manufacturing environment. Excellent coordination and mechanical skills. Strong attention to detail, accuracy and safety. Ability to use hand tools. Proficient in Math. Able to read blueprints. Able to calculate dimensions using instruments such as micrometers or calipers
Minimum of a high School or technical school diploma. An Associate’s Degree through a technical school a plus.
