Job Summary: The Lead Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for overseeing and executing maintenance activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of machinery and equipment in a production environment. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production machinery, electrical systems, and other equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Manage inventory and order parts and supplies as needed to maintain machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks.
  • Train and mentor junior maintenance team members to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee emergency repairs and ensure minimal downtime in production operations.

  • Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
    • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
